MISSION

The Museum of Caribbean and African Arts (MACA) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to discover the history, the tangible and intangible heritage of African and Caribbean cultures; by collecting, conserving, and exhibiting objects and works of art for the purposes of study, education, popularization, and enjoyment.

  • Extend MACA's actions across Canada especially in Montreal and Toronto

  • Organize at least two exhibitions per year

  • Enrich the collection of artists' works (material and digital) of African and / or Caribbean origin

  • Create an archival fund documenting the contribution of black artists and personalities in Canada

  • Open a café with an artistic performance program

  • Establish a bank of African and Caribbean artists and artisans at local, national and international levels; develop links and increase networking between artists and the Museum

  • Create a production department for shows and artistic events

  • Create an artistic young chamber

  • (J-CAM) made up of young people under 35

  • Organize fundraisers to finance the museum's activities

  • Establish partnerships with museums with similar mandates
